Digital Citizenship

Schools around the world are supporting safe technology usage by teaching students to become responsible digital citizens.   A digital citizen is defined on Dictionary.com as a person who develops the skills and knowledge to effectively use the Internet and other digital technology, especially in order to participate responsibly in social and civic activities.  You can help support this at home by having simple conversations with your child and setting guidelines on how to behave online.  These conversations could be as simple as talking about being kind and standing up for others or setting guidelines so that they do not oversharing on social media.  Here is a very short article with 5 basic talking points to help guide the conversations:
